In order to list your school as a certified Safe To Train location you will need to fill out the form below and submit it for our team to review.

🌈 Inclusion & Non-Discrimination
Encouraged Standard: Foster a welcoming space for all students, regardless of gender identity, expression, or sexual orientation
- Share an inclusivity statement with staff and students
- Avoid discriminatory language and behavior
- Have a response plan for issues if they arise
🧠 LGBTQIA+ Awareness for Staff
Encouraged Standard: Help staff build confidence in creating inclusive spaces
- Offer occasional training or resources
- Host discussions on respectful communication and inclusion
🗣️ Respect for Names, Pronouns & Titles
Encouraged Standard: Support students in choosing how they’re addressed
- Use preferred names and pronouns
- Offer rank-based titles instead of gendered terms
- Invite students to share how they’d like to be addressed
🥋 Inclusive Sparring & Class Policies
Encouraged Standard: Prioritize safety and comfort in training
- Match students by skill and size—not gender
- Let students choose sparring partners
- Offer modified or non-contact options
💬 Clear Expectations & Support
Encouraged Standard: Create an environment with clear behavior expectations and support systems
- Share guidelines at sign-up or orientation
- Monitor sparring and intervene if needed
- Offer support for students post-sparring
🚻 Facilities & Gear for Everyone
Encouraged Standard: Ensure all students can access facilities and gear that suit their needs
- Provide gender-neutral or private restrooms/changing options
- Offer gear that fits a variety of body types
- Support attire choices that align with comfort and safety
📣 Representation & Community (Optional)
Encouraged Standard: Show LGBTQIA+ students they belong through outreach and messaging
- Use inclusive language in marketing materials
- Support or collaborate with LGBTQIA+ events/organizations
- Show diverse students in promotional content
